From Networking to Tailgating

We met in DC and were lucky enough to know a great friend Jon Lyles and he introduced us. We found out we were both in communications and more importantly, Philly people. GO EAGLES! A friendship was born and we have stayed in contact ever since.

leadership lessons fron David Allbritton

So when I started hosting the Leading with Purpose podcast, I knew he had to be on. Listening to him speak, I knew why we stay connected. His mission is to mentor as many people on their road to success. As you listen to our conversation, you can be assured of accomplishing your goals. I suggest you enter into his sphere of influence.

Lessons in Leadership

We called this episode Mastering Leadership in Communications. David spoke about the importance of intent, listening, and why leadership is a privilege. Here are the Lessons in Leadership I learned from our chat:

  • Leadership is a privilege.
  • Change is inevitable and daily. Your people never stop changing. You as a leader have to continue to grow and adapt.
  • Say Less. Listen intently. A leader has to listen instead of anticipating what the person is saying.
  • Feedback. Forget metrics. Ask for feedback when it comes to measuring your success and impact.
  • Say Thank You!

If the lessons I learned resonate with you, listen to the full podcast below. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
